Hi, I’m Maggie, and I spend a lot of my life in airports, hotels, and somewhere in between solo adventures and work trips I was never really taught how to navigate.

 

For the past three years, I’ve been on a plane at least once a month—sometimes for personal travel, sometimes for work as an engineer. That mix has taken me everywhere from high-end city stays to remote jungle towns, and even a small island off the coast of Malaysia. Each trip has taught me something different, but most of it I had to figure out on my own.

 

I’ve been traveling since I was young. My parents encouraged curiosity, independence, and learning through experience. So when I first started solo traveling in my early 20s, I assumed it would feel familiar. It didn’t.

 

Being a young woman traveling alone came with a learning curve no one really prepares you for—planning efficient itineraries, navigating unfamiliar transportation systems, and even the small but surprisingly real challenge of dining alone. Over time, I became more confident, but each destination still brought new lessons.

 

Then came professional travel.

 

As an engineer, I’ve gone from job sites in the middle of nowhere in the U.S. to project work on small international islands. No one really prepares you for how to navigate constant small talk with coworkers for a week straight, stepping off a red-eye flight and going directly into a business meeting, or figuring out the unspoken etiquette of politely declining a work dinner. It’s taken me years to feel comfortable in these environments, and I’m still learning every time I go.

 

I created this space because I wished something like it had existed when I started.

While there are great solo travel blogs, female travel resources, and corporate travel guides out there, I never found anything that blended all three perspectives together in a practical way. Here, I want to change that.

 

My goal is simple: to share real, actionable insights from both solo and professional travel—things that actually help you feel more prepared, confident, and comfortable in unfamiliar places. I’ll also share the places, experiences, and lessons that have stayed with me along the way.
